Mustafa Safdar is COO of Bay Area Medical Clinic. He joined the company in 2018 and focuses on practice operations, population health, finance, growth and technology. He has meaningful hands-on experience managing value-based practices, collaborating with physicians and clinical teams, and interacting with patients. He is passionate and committed about accelerating the shift toward value-based care.
Previously, he was at NRG Energy, a Fortune 250 energy company, where he made investments in clean energy projects across the United States. He also helped build the company's community solar business. Prior to NRG, he worked as an investment banking analyst at Citi, a Fortune 50 financial services company where he helped execute M&A and financing transactions.
Mustafa received his MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated in the top 5% of his class as a Baker Scholar. While at Harvard, he collaborated with top healthcare industry leaders to study value-based healthcare delivery and high-performing medical groups. Mustafa also received a B.S. in Applied Mathematics-Economics from Brown University.
